Title Technical Solutions Director
Job Category Operations
Description Plans, directs and executes the technical delivery on data warehousing and business intelligence IT projects and development. Partner with cross-functional teams and with customers to define IT strategies to achieve an optimum delivery of software products. Oversee the maintenance and support of advanced technology systems to meet the needs of business and integrate system and evolving technologies. Responsible for leading and managing delivery on multiple projects and responsible for all project related resource management, task-prioritization and development.
Required Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience in similar work environment.
•Minimum 10 years of IT work experience focused in systems development and programming..
•Experience developing and integrating components including IBM InfoSphere/DataStage, Ab-Initio, DB2, Vertica, J2EE, WebSphere, Cognos, XML, SQL and ETL code-development tools and environments. Experience with Microsoft Office products desired.
•Possesses strong technology project management skills.
Preferred Basic Qualifications
•Must possess extensive knowledge in the use of Project Management methodologies and tools and understand human resources policies and practices and change management techniques. Demonstrated leadership, people management, mentoring, and project management skills;
•Experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation, involving internal staff, contractors and vendors
•Previous supervisory experience a plus.
•Ability to analyze project needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives and within budget
•The ability to develop and maintain business relationships
•Advanced analytical and testing skills
•Strong team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills to cultivate positive working relationships
•BCBS or health insurance industry background
•Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs
•Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies
•Ability to research and maintain knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business
•Solid analytical and conceptual skills
•In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art programming languages and object oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs
•Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs
•Strong team oriented interpersonal and communication skills
•Excellent presentation skills
•Ability to maintain key relationships to achieve business objectives
•BCBS or health insurance industry background preferred
